Top FAQs: Receiving PocketMail Messages

How can I tell if a PocketMail message is waiting for me at the PocketMail Service?

You must dial in to the PocketMail Service as described in your user guide. After you hear the beeps indicating successful completion, hang up the telephone and check your Inbox for messages.

Can I receive attachments?

Your PocketMail device is able to display text messages. The PocketMail Service will insert any text or HTML (Web page) attachments into the body of received messages.

If you have been sent an e-mail message with any other kind of attachment, such as a word processor document, a notice about this will appear in the body of the message.

When you have access to a personal computer, you can retrieve the actual attachment by accessing your PocketMail account with a POP3 e-mail client, or via the Web-based and WAP-based PocketMail service available with some service plans.

Can I send and receive faxes?

Your PocketMail device is capable of sending fax messages but cannot receive fax messages. Fax service charges will be applied on your next scheduled billing date. You will be charged only for faxes that were successfully delivered by the PocketMail Service. Only accounts on a credit card billing plan may use this feature. If you would prefer not to have the fax feature available to your account please contact Customer Service.

Current PocketMail USA/Canada fax charges (in U.S. dollars):
•To USA and Canada fax numbers, $0.25 per fax
•To fax numbers elsewhere, $1.00 per fax
